How am I throwing money away, you may ask. Answer: By not using online shopping portals. Shopping portals are places that when you click on their links, they give you cash back, points or miles.
Ebates, an online shopping portal is currently giving you up to 10.5% cashback (normally up to 5.2 % cashback) when purchasing travel services at Orbitz. I compared these cashback rates with Fatwallet and Bigcrumbs, and Ebates beat them in every category!
Here is the breakdown of cashback right now:
2% - Pre-paid Hotels or hotel-inclusive vacation packages booked with a promo code/coupon
5% - Packages
6% - Retail Hotels
9% - Pre-paid Hotels
10.5% - Activities
$3.60 - Air
$7.20 - Car
$50 - Cruise
