3/11 UPDATE: CLICK HERE

This is an amazing way to gain thousands of airline miles and some free valuable Apple products, all without a hard inquiry on your credit record. If you have at least $10,000 or even less, don't turn down this amazing opportunity to earn 50,000 United or American airline miles, 50,000 Delta Miles and a $100-$500 Apple Gift Card per spouse.

So many friends I talk to don't want to do this, because they think it's a complex process. They don't seem to believe me when I say "If I can do it, so can you!". This is the reason I have written out a complete step by step instruction guide to this promotion. Just follow these steps and you will be fine. If you have any questions I will be more than happy to answer them if I know the answer. If I don't, I will post the question on FlyerTalk.

Points to take note of before you start:
You do not need to keep the money in the brokerage account. When we talk about needing to transfer funds of $100,000 we mean that you need to TRANSFER (Fund) $100,000 all together . What Flyertalk members have been doing is funding and withdrawing $25,000 at a time (4 times all together), until they reach the $100,000 transfer. The first time you fund the account, you can't withdraw it back into your bank account until the bank account has been verified, which takes about 7-10 business days according to Fidelity. Otherwise it takes about 5-7 days for each fund/withdraw cycle. I didn't receive email notifications from any of the promotions I registered for. But once I funded them I did receive some notifications saying that I will receive miles from United and Delta. I also received an email saying that I am eligible to receive an Apple Gift Card from the Apple/Fidelity promotion. See below to see the letters I received.

These rules we will be disregarded due to FlyerTalk members and myself saying that these restrictions don't always matter:
You can't sign up for these promotions because your spouse already did.
Needing to transfer the full $100,000 amount and keeping the money in the account for the entire length of the promotion.
Keeping your money in the account.
You need to register for the promotion before you start transferring money into the account.

Follow these steps:
You will first follow these steps for yourself and then for your spouse.
STEP 1: Open a Fidelity individual account, fund it and earn up to 50,000 United miles; register here until  October 1st, 2014 OR register for up to 50,000 American Airlines miles until September 30, 2012. You must be a new Fidelity customer without a former brokerage account to qualify for the UA or AA promotion. If you are already a brokerage customer, I suggest trying anyways to see if you can still get it. Flyertalk members have been able to have this restriction waived by calling in to Fidelity. But they also say that this is no longer the case. Once you have signed up with UA or AA I suggest waiting until some miles from Fidelity post to your account before going on to the next promotion. You can read my instructions below of how to fund an account.

Delta Airlines Fidelity Offer

STEP 2: Once you see some miles from Fidelity you can then sign up for the Delta Fidelity Promotion which expires (February 14, 2012) now February 14, 2013 to earn up to another 50,000 miles. With Delta, you can be an existing account holder, you just must fund it. Here are detailed instructions as how to fund an account.

You are now ready to register for this promotion. Click on "Fund an existing account"
and click on the "Start Now" button.

Fill in the form below with your First Name, Last Name, SS#, Email Address,
Fidelity Account Number and lastly your Delta Sky Miles Account Number.

Click Submit to verify information is correct.
Click on "Fund my Account"

Log In to your Fidelity Account and click "Log In"

Click on "Fund my Account"

Click on "Accounts & Trade" and then "Transfer Money/Shares"

Now you are going to choose where you want to transfer the money from. Under the "From" field, choose "A Bank Account" and under the "To" field choose your Fidelity Account.

On the next screen make sure your bank or institution is selected and click on the "next" button,

Under From, you will  see that "Amount" is written, type in the amount you wish to transfer and then click on the "Submit" button.

Verify that all the information is correct then click on the "Submit" button.
You may want to keep a record of the transaction confirmation number.

STEP 3: Now, you are ready to  register for the Apple promotion by June 30, 2012 to receive an Apple Gift Card valued $100 (for deposits of $75,000), $300 (for deposits of $150,000) or $500 (for deposits of $300,000). You must complete the transferring within 30 days of signing up for the Apple promotion. If you only have $25,000 that you are cycling, you can choose to do the cycling before you actually sign up for the Apple promotion. Because $25,000 will need to be cycled 12 times in order to receive the full amount of $500. This was an idea put out on Flyertalk and they have said this had worked for them. I will let you know if it works for me. You must at least deposit something within the first 30 days of registering for this promotion, so I would do the last transfer AFTER I have registered for this Apple promotion.

Note: I have completed this process for myself and am currently doing it for my husband. After registering for this promotion for my husband with United and Fidelity he received this email:

My husband has a 401K with Fidelity so I suspect that is the reason for this message? Or maybe it's because I took advantage for this promotion already? I don't know. So this email worried me alot, UNTIL....
He received his UA miles from Fidelity. So, my advice to you is, if you also get this email from Fidelity....just ignore it!

  1. You should edit your images to blur/take out your account #/info.

When did you apply for the Apple GC? Are you going for 100/300 or 500 GC? Any confirmation emails from them when you register? Any news on that piece?

  2. Thanks for pointing that out, just 1 image hadn't been updated, I fixed it now. I just got the $100 for myself, but I will try to go for the $500 for my husband. When I registered for the apple promop I never received an email confirmation, but after being eligible for the $100 GC I received an email that I will be receiving the GC shortly. I received it about a week later.

  3. BTW - TD Ameritrade did have a promotion also, it was supposed to run until 2/29. So i don't know if they still have it or will extend it.

BUT I highly suggest you DO NOT sign up with them!

We signed up and after the initial time to wait to be allowed to pull funds out, our money is STUCK in the stupid account. Now they are saying we have to go to the bank to get them to fax an official letter stating that the funds cleared even though it shows up on their side and we even did the bank verification with the small deposits and they even were able to do their reclamation of those small deposits. All went thru and they won't allow us to withdraw our money. I can understand the security checks but this is just ridiculous!

  5. Please remove the step by step images and just post a link to Flyer Talk.

  6. I second that.

Please remove the step by step images and just post a link to Flyer Talk. You're going to kill the deal for everyone else. All the info anyone needs is on Flyer Talk.

  7. Agreed with the others, while it's nice of you to post this, please link to Flyertalk on this. Additional publicity of this not required (I'm in the process of getting this promo and do not want it shut down)

  8. why everyone has to go to FT to read details about this deal? FT threads are not easy to browse. Miriam and other bloggers are doing a great job in simplifying everything for new deal seekers. FT threads are full of jargon and abbreviated terms, that is not easy to understand. If it is on web (FT), then it is already highly publicized. stop acting/whining like a kid. Learn to share and be patient.

  11. @Hao Thanks for the forewarning and good luck in getting the money out of your account. That is just awful that you have to go through that to get your own money back!
    @Nguyen Good luck!
@sam You are very welcome. Did u receive an email saying that you are ineligible?

  12. Hello,
    this is sam,

update to my app process. I opened the acct on 3/8 and funded it as well. today i got an email from fidelity that i am not eligible, same one that your husband got. I am going to keep my fingers crossed.

Question for you Miriam. How long did it take for the miles to post on your husband's united acct? I am just curious. I plan to keep the funds for about 10-15 days and see if the miles post, otherwise move on to the delta plan.

    thanks

    1. Hi Sam,
It only took a few days from the time he received the email until the miles posted. So you should see them soon.
Good news, his first installment of Delta miles (15,000) just posted yesterday. Waiting on the 2nd installment of his United miles. I hope nothing will be screwed up because of the merger. Already we have not seen his frequent flyer miles from his recent trip. In the past they would have posted immediately.
      Keep me updated please,
      DealsSeeker

  13. Hi Miriam and Sam,

Do you have any updates on the existing a/c? and whether the full mileage have been posted or not.

    Thanks

  14. I am thinking about taking 4 months (April, May, June & July) to reach $300k deposit limit to claim $500 Apple GC. I will register for Apple promotion in the 3rd month (June28th) of cycle after I deposit $225k in fidelity account. I will need to cycle ~$19k every week in-out fidelity .
This will also satisfy 100k deposit in 90-days to get airline miles.
Do you think it will work?

  15. Hello, this is Sam,

    update, i have yet to receive any united miles. i completely funded the acct on 3/12,send an email thru the secure inbox to cust service on 3/20,did not get any resp.called them on 3/21,rep spoke to a senior service spec, came back and adv that the miles will be posted in 1-2 weeks.later the same day,got an email from another rep, pointing me to t&c in the united deal;

Only prospective customers who currently do not have a Fidelity retail account are eligible.

so i doubt if the miles will ever post.i am still debating about the delta deal, i am in TX, where united/aa have market share. i don't know how much i can do with the delta miles, or even i should bother about getting those miles.

  16. @d I have receive 25,000 miles for both airlines on my dh's account

@Anonymous I don't see why it wouldn't work but I can't guarantee, I'm trying the same thing myself, I hope I can get that Gift Card as I would love an iPad

@Sam I'm so sorry to hear that! Looks like they are getting stricter in keeping to the rules. But Sam, even if you don't use the miles for flying, you can still use them for hotels, car rentals, merchandise etc..

  17. The United offer now says you earn miles when you open and fund an account an account or add to an existing one. So it seems that they've removed the need to be a new customer.

The question is whether you can still double-dip with the Delta promotion.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Where did you see this? Are you sure you are not mixing this up with AA. AA has a new offer that says you can now fund an existing account.

Doesn't look like u can double dip anymore? But right now, no one knows anything for sure.

      Will update on this soon.

  18. Miriam when do you anticipate reaching the 300k threshold for the $500 Apple GC using cycling? Would love to know if it works, I'm trying the same thing.

  19. "STEP 2: Once you see some miles from Fidelity you can then sign up for the Delta Fidelity Promotion"

I'm not 100% sure what you mean here. You're saying I should wait until I see my first 15K AAmiles post to my account before signing up for the Delta promotion? And if so, will my very first fund transfer count towards the Delta promotion even though I'll have signed up afterwards?

    1. I would appreciate anyone's help on this. I'm just standing by waiting to do it but wanted to make sure I fully understand first. Thank you.

    2. Hey AaronCO,

At this point it looks like double dipping, getting both promo offers is dead. I have read through Flyertalk and there are some changes. I will post about them. Basically, you need to choose one promo. It doesn't seem to matter which one. New Rule:
"Promotional offers are limited to one per individual per rolling 12 months." So it seems you can now get all four promo's, but now in 4 years.
Look out for my new post with new links.

    3. Okay good to know. Just saw your new post. I will move forward with the new information you write about.
Thank you for taking the time to follow up.

Great find by the way, I appreciate the re-post!

  20. NO-GO...

They denied me the Delta Points.
The guy on the phone said, I didn't
qualify, because I already got the
    United deal.

I signed up for the United deal in March
and got my points in April, I applied
for the Delta deal in the first week of
    April and no points.

Did they change the Fine-Print in the
    deal details?
