If you have a United or Continental Credit Card you have access to the MileagePlus Shopping Portal.
Going on right now they have a special for spring, where you can earn double miles at certain retailers
until March 31st.
Sears.com - 6 miles per dollars
Coupon code SEARS2012 gets you $5 off a $50 order
Coupon code SPRING35 gets you $35 off a $350 order
JCPenney - 8 miles per dollar
I know that 6 miles per dollar for Sears isn't the amazing 10 points per dollar Chase was offering for a while
at their Ultimate Rewards Mall, but it's certainly better than the 5 points they are currently offering if your main airline is United. In the past I have been able to purchase e-Gift Cards at drugstore.com and receive miles from MileagePlus, using a non-Chase credit card. So, I believe you would probably get miles for purchasing gift cards through them and then receive miles again when using the Gift Card. I would only use the coupon code when using the Gift Card. Let us know if you try this and if it worked.

Sunday, I blogged about purchasing software at Staples and receiving back 100% through a rebate check. Thanks to the tip off from FrequentMiler! For some reason I could only purchase 1, and I was charged sales tax for the item. I didn't notice a sales tax charge on there when I had clicked "order". In the past, I used the same area code (a Californian one) and didn't have to pay sales tax on my orders. Not only that, I could only order 1 software download! I called Staples today to ask why a previous order didn't go through. I already called regarding this order and was told that I would get it that day. Well, the service representative said that they just needed to confirm my email address. I asked her why a downloaded order has to take
so long. She said that they are having so many orders placed on software and electronics, that they are backlogged. After that order was taken care of, I asked about the order I tried putting through on Sunday.
I told her that it would only process one, even though I wanted to order 10. She told me that one could only order 1. I directed her to the area where it states that it's 10 per customer. She gave me an explanation that
didn't really make sense to me and showed me where it now says "1 per customer" listed. I told her that
on Sunday, there was no such written statement. She told me that couldn't be the case, as they would have been notified of any changes. I think that Staples has caught on to what people are doing and is putting a stop to it all. I don't think that we will see too many offers like this in the future. See below where it now states that it is "1 per customer".
Has anyone taken a screen shot of this BEFORE they presumably changed it?
Has anyone been able to purchase more than 1 at a time?
Update: I see that FrequentMiler has posted a screenshot from when it didn't say "1 per customer". So my memory served me correctly that it didn't say that on Sunday and the rep was completely wrong when she assumed that they would be informed if the deal was changed.
What a disappointment! I was sooo hoping to help my Mom out with her minimum spend for her Chase Sapphire! But, this doesn't surprise me.

I have written about Staples Free After Rebates products before. There are four Free After Rebates (FAR) available for purchase at Staples.com going on right now through the 31st of March. The first two listed below are not easyrebates, but mail in rebates. You can also only order one, per software and therefore don't gain you many miles. So in my opinion, unless you want this software it is not worth your time and effort and I won't be ordering them. The second two are both easyrebates and one can order 10 of each. For some reason I was only able to order 1 item though, of the 3rd product. I will try again tomorrow. Let me know if you have luck ordering 10 of each. The 4th product is a Boxed CD. I put out a question on the Fatwallet.com Forum asking "If I order 10 of these to a store (for no sales tax) and never pick them up, will I still receive the FAR, I will let you know what answer I receive. Or, if any one of you have done this and know, please comment below.
Find below the products that are FAR. Enjoy your free points and don't forget to go through the Ultimate Rewards Mall to receive your points! If you have a Chase Ink Card use that for even more points!
and click on "rebate check" in order to receive a check that you can deposit into your bank account. They say that it will take 4-6 weeks for receive the check. Some people on Fatwallet have stated that it has taken much longer for them at time.

Some readers of Dansdeals mention that they are getting a bunch of these by using differen't email addresses and using a differen't credit card each time. I, myself have been able to purchase a few this way.

How does Staples Rewards Work? Can I really get Free After Easy Online Rebates?
Don't miss any deals, subscribe to DealsSeeker with an email or RSS subscription or follow on Twitter.
Part 1 Rewards Programs For Free Items
In this series, I will be speaking about three Office Supply online stores that I have been purchasing FREE items from. That is, they become FREE after the rebate. This is the first installment in the series.
1- Staples
2- Office Depot
3- OfficeMax
I will just be discussing Staples Rewards in this post and in the future will write about the OfficeMax and Office Depot rebates. In my opinion Staples has the best rebate offer because one can order a rebate check, visa card or Staples Gift card to receive your money back. Your check can be directly deposited into your bank account. OfficeMax and Office Depot give you rewards that are credited to your account for future purchases. The great thing is that with Staples rebates there is no paperwork involved and everything is done online in a matter of a couple of minutes. I recently bought some software earning me lots of miles from Staples.com. Currently there is a deal where you can purchase up to 10 downloads of Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2012 (1-User) per person Item: 368660, Model: 8086301, which is originally $49.99. With a discount of $4.99 and a rebate of $45.00 this becomes FREE. Your credit card gets charged $450 and then you can get a rebate check in the mail which you can deposit into your bank account. Make sure to use a California zip code, like 92274, or a Staples ship to address in California in order not to pay any taxes. Also, by checking evreward.com you can see that you will earn miles, points or cashback for Staples. I prefer the valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards Points (you can do this if you have the Chase Freedom, Sapphire Preferred or Ink Card) or Cashback with ShopDiscover. Also, if you use your Chase Ink Card you get 5 points per dollar for charges made at Office Supply Stores.
Points Earned
Ultimate Rewards Mall - $450 x 4pts/$1 = 1,800 UR Points
Any 1pt/$1 credit card = 450 points or miles
Chase Ink Credit Card = 5pts/$1 = 2,250 UR Points
OR
ShopDiscover = 5% cashback = $22.50 Cashback with Discover More Card
Total Points Earned
Chase Ink CC = Total 4,050 UR Points
Regular CC with UR Mall = 2,250 UR Points
or
ShopDiscover = $22.50 Cashback
Check out FrequentMiler's step by step post on how to take advantage of this offer. Thanks FM!

You can further dip, by going to Ebates.com and using the GC to purchase books for 2.5% cashback. Prices aren't much more than Amazon, but definately do a price comparison to make sure that your book doesn't cost much more.

The New Penfed Platinum Rewards Visa Card
Don't miss any deals, subscribe to DealsSeeker with an email or RSS subscription or follow on Twitter.
Penfed Platinum Rewards Visa Card
Key Features
Earn 5 points per dollar spent on gas purchases
Earn 3 points per dollar spent on supermarket purchases
Earn 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases
No annual fee
No foreign transaction fee
Earn 5,000 points upon first purchase with the card
Earn an additional 20,000 points when you spend $1,000 in the first 3 months of opening the Card - that's equal to $200 toward the reward of your choice. I already have the Penfed Premium Travel Rewards card which I get 5 points per dollar on Airline Tickets. I will keep on charging my airline tickets on that card and when I get this one, charge my gas and supermarket purchases on this one. I have calculated that I can get a free International ticket just by charging my groceries on this card! The only bad thing is that one can't transfer points over to Airlines and one must use their booking tool. Also, you should only redeem your tickets with this card in low season since the number of points you need during high season is astronomical. Also, if you are only interested in Business or First Class tickets, then this card isn't for you. This card works well for people that are flexible in their travel dates and are interested in Economy tickets, since for example, one can redeem a $1,000 Economy ticket in low season for only 62,500 points. See chart below for details.
Ticket cost
$350 : 21,875pts
$500 : 31,250pts
$750 : 46,875pts
$1,000 : 62,500pts
$350 : 21,875pts
$500 : 31,250pts
$750 : 46,875pts
$1,000 : 62,500pts

Earn 3 Points on Dining Purchases Through Aprl 30th With The Penfed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card
In addition to the 5 times per dollar for Airfare Purchases you normally earn on the Penfed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card, you can now earn through April 30, 2012, 3 points per dollar on Dining purchases. Apparently this offer was available from February 1st, but I seemed to miss the email. What is so great about this card, besides normally earning 5 times per dollar is that it has no foreign transaction fees. So, while you are doing a bit of traveling you can now use this card on your foreign dining purchases. The sign up promotion for this card is 20,000 points which is not amazing, but considering you get so many miles for your Airfare Purchases I think this is a worthwhile card to have. My normal spend is about $6,000 - $6,500 spend per year on Airline Tickets, which I always place on my Penfed Credit Card. So, about every 2 years per years I can get a free Economy Coach Airline Ticket that also earns frequent flyer miles. Now, if you get friends and family to place their Airfare Tickets on your Credit Card you can earn even more miles!
Penfed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card Click here to apply. In order to apply for this credit card you need to first be part of Pentagon's Credit Union. All you need to do is pay $5 to join their Union and then you can apply for their credit card. Some experts don’t think that this is a good credit card, since you need to purchase the airline/travel purchases through their booking tool. But I think it’s a great deal, if you are willing to buy tickets through them when it’s not high season and only are interested in economy seats. When it’s high season the miles you need are astronomical! But if you are flexible and can purchase your tickets not during high season, tickets cost much less. At the end of 2011 they had a promotion where one earned 25% more on all earnings. So, this card also has great promotions from time to time.
Did I mention that this card if free? You heard me right! There are NO ANNUAL FEES!!!Ticket Cost:
$350 : 21,875 points
$500 : 31,250 points
$750 : 46,875 points
$1,000: 62,500 points (80,000 miles/points with airlines)
To travel round trip from the US to the Middle East for example it would cost 80-90k miles, but as you see above, with this card it is only 62,500 miles. This is only during low season.
